Day 7: 8/15 Shiloh National Battlefield Visitor Center -- Home of the worst expository Civil War movie of all time. It had to be produced by the same people that brought us "Reefer Madness" and all those wonderful sex education movies of the Fifties.

Day 7: 8/15 Pittsburgh Landing, Shiloh Battlefield -- Rick and Ron at the Landing on the Tennessee River.

Day 7: 8/15 Shiloh Battlefield -- Indiana Monument to her soldiers. Kathy Lieb's relative was a member of an Indiana unit at the battle. He and Wiley's ancestor probably spent the better part of a day shooting at each other.

Day 7: 8/15 Shiloh Battlefield -- The Hornet's Nest where Prentiss and his brave Union soldiers repulsed eleven assaults by Confederate forces. They stood their ground until the South massed 65 batteries of artillery against them. The whizzing of bullets overhead reminded the veterans of the sound of angry hornets -- hence the name, The Hornets Nest.
