Volume 1
Lets start at
the beginning, January 1999
When people reacted by saying “Wow”
or “You’re Crazy!” Ed Lonsbary knew his idea would be a hit.
Lonsbary unveiled his idea at the
Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) Rally in Georgia in March 1999.
Before he even owned the coach he now calls “Patty’s
Charm", Lonsbary was taking his message to the public.
“Two to four people "Anywhere – Anytime" in the USA,
Canada, Mexico, and Central & South America.”
That message drew encouragement from the RV crowd.
Women confided in whispers that their aging and stubborn
husbands really shouldn’t be driving anymore.
Several men, who had a similar idea but never acted on it,
offered well-intended suggestions and support.
Lonsbary collected names and phone numbers from many people
wanting to drive for the company when in the future the fleet grows.
Now, over a year later, Lonsbary has
logged many miles in the motor coach. He’s modified the preconceived idea
of who are his customers too. Originally,
Lonsbary believed “baby boomers” held the key.
He’s learned there’s no limit.
His customers are seniors, boomers, young couples,
businessmen, small groups, and even country bands!

Travel
Log
In 1999,
Private Motor Coach, Inc. completed 14 trips for customers in our
luxury motorcoach.
Ed took
“Baba” and “Zedo” to Niagara Falls.
The Kendall family went down memory lane visiting the old
homestead and relatives in Ohio and Kentucky with their mother.
Dave Robinson “wowed” his fiancée with a weekend in
Atlantic City. A group of “Parrot Heads” partied in the coach for the
Pittsburgh Jimmy Buffet concert.
A country rock bank called “The Fabulous Gunslingers”
rolled into three shows in the motor coach.
And, a busload of Christmas shoppers held a morning coffee
gathering enroute to Prime Outlet in Grove City and filled the
storage bays of the bus with Santa’s goodies!
Business
customers even hopped on board.
Sales representatives from Coors Brewing traveled aboard
“Patty’s Charm” to a Pittsburgh/Buffalo football game and took
in the sights of the Niagara Falls area.
The most
unusual and unexpected request came from Vogel Disposal, a refuse
company located in Mars, PA. Vogel’s
needed transportation for 10 garbage truck drivers to Buffalo, NY.
Their mission was to pick up newly purchased, but previously
owned trucks; then convoy back with a mechanic and tools in the
coach in event that one of the trucks needed road repair.
What a sight to see “Patty’s Charm” in all its silver
glory trailing behind a parade of dirty dented garbage trucks!
What's New for 2000?
As
we chart our course for global business growth, we are looking to
venturing into Central America. This past April and May, Ed took a
solo trip beginning in McAllen, Texas.
He went from Mexico to Costa Rica by motor coach.
Now his is ready to offer adventures with confidence to
guests aboard the coach.
South
America will be next!
Our motto is... "Anywhere
- Anytime"
