Second Annual Celebration Draws Friends and Family to North
Park
Ed and Patty Lonsbary welcomed and embraced
customers, business associates, friends and family at the Second Annual Private
Motor Coach, Inc. Celebration. The festivities ran from noon to 5 PM at
the Grant Pavilion of North Park on Saturday September 30th. Everyone took a
ride through the Park on the motor coach "Patty's
Charm." Kids played croquet and adults amused themselves with
horseshoes. Mimi Cocks traveled the greatest distance to attend the
festivities coming from Levittown, New York. Looking ahead for next year, hold
this date, Saturday, September 29, 2001.

North to New York, West to
Wisconsin, and South to Florida: Guests Experience that VIP Feeling
A mix of
business, pleasure, and attention to special needs...that's how to best describe
the trips booked in year 2000 by Private Motor Coach, Inc.
The Fabulous
Gunslingers of Pittsburgh road to their performances on "Patty's
Charm" several times. This country/rock band performed at the
TruValue Competition in Laughlintown's Ligonier Country Inn, capturing a local
first place trophy. Then, they went onto Franklin, Pennsylvania to
claim the regional trophy. Not only are the Fabulous Gunslingers top
performers in the region, they were selected to be the opening act for Charlie
Daniels when he performed at the Jennerstown Raceway. Congratulations to these
fine entertainers! We were glad to be a part of these triumphant occasions.
When the
preservation jazz Band flew into LaGuardia Airport in New York City in
June, Patty and Ed Lonsbary were there to escort them to their West Hampton
performance. This famous New Orleans band found plenty of room aboard the
motor coach for their instruments - drums to base - and space to relax
themselves before their show.
Chevy dealers
conducted a meeting aboard the coach enroute to a Philadelphia convention.
Tom Henry of Tom Henry Chevrolet in Bakerstown put this business trip together.
Gary Young of
Country Fresh Carpet Cleaning in Gibsonia treated friends, who he and his wife
met on a recent cruise, to a Pittsburgh City Tour. The group visited the
Andy Warhol Museum, took in Oakland and Shadyside sights, and enjoyed the
Gateway Clipper Evening Cruise. They felt like V.I.P.' S in the coach.
Residents
from Oxford Manor Retirement Home took a Sunday drive through Ontario's
Ingersoll area. This special trip was compliments of Harvey Lonsbary who
treated the group to their favorite treat - butter pecan ice cream cones!
Mike
"Spike" Reynolds of Michael's Restaurant in Pittsburgh's Mt.
Washington area wanted to impress his friends accompanying him on his annual
fishing excursion so he put them aboard Private Motor Coach, Inc. Even though
this was the first time the group did not caravan from Pittsburgh to Ohio, they
still got lost! Spike took the gang to the wrong Days Inn, again!
Wedding bells
rang in New York, and Steve Balbach needed to get to the church on time.
Although he wasn't the groom, Steve put the wedding couple's friends from
Baltimore on "Patty's Charm" and
treated them all to a special ride to the nuptials.
Packed with
tents, fishing gear, and plenty of food, the Wassel, Sanford and Harrold
families went off to New York. Enroute, an orange road cone joined the troupe;
but when the lights went out, it disappeared! Upon arrival in New York,
the group split in two: one for sightseeing in Niagara Falls and the other for
fishing on the rough waters of Lake Ontario. Those on board the boat passed on
lunch, diagnosed with "sea-sickness"...but come evening, they couldn't
wait for the taste of fresh salmon and steelhead hot off the grill cooked by
"Chef Chris" (the only one who did not get seasick).
Meeting the
special needs of travelers, Ed Lonsbary of Private Motor Coach, Inc. escorted
Mrs. Love, her sister Tweezie, and two attending nurses. Mrs. Love enjoyed
the comfort of the bed and couch as she traveled from Ligonier,
Pennsylvania to her winter home in Delray, Florida.
Then, "Patty's
Charm" was off to Wisconsin. Dr. Cedric King, a retired physician
and author, had been planning a trip to Wisconsin for his son Steve who suffers
from Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. The trip was just a dream until, Dr.
King found Private Motor Coach, Inc. For his 10-day trip to Cuba City , Dr. King
needed a vehicle with a bed to make traveling comfortable for Steve. With
a few modifications and help from two traveling home care attendants, Dr. King's
dream for Steve came true.

Did you see us?
We're
"building a brand" that's why you'll see Private Motor Coach, Inc. at
travel and trade shows. Most recently, Patty Lonsbary attended the Bus
Conversion Convention in Laughlin, Nevada. The three day show - October
12, 13, & 14 - at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort brought together "Bus
Nuts" from the U.S., Canada, and even Australia. The show is
sponsored annually by Bus Conversions Magazine.
The
Lonsbary's also had a booth at the Family Motor Coach Association International
Convention in Brunswick, Maine. over 5,000 motor coaches filled the
runways of Brunswick Naval Air Force Base for this July 2000 gathering.
In February,
Ed and Patty Lonsbary, with son Chris Wassel, took shifts at the Cleveland
Travel & Sport Show. The 10 day show at the Cleveland I-Max
helped to spread the word about Private Motor Coach, Inc. as an alternative mode
of travel. And, it may have planted the seed for Marie France of Belgium to take
that adventure to Ushuaia at the southern most tip of South America.
