Private Motor Coach, Inc. participates in
International
Tourist Guide Day
Private Motor Coach, Inc. of Gibsonia donated its services in
Washington, D.C. on Saturday, February 24, 2001 for the observance
of the International Tourist Guide Day.
Together with the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of
Washington, D.C., a two-hour guided tour of our national monuments
and memorials was offered aboard the luxury motorcoach.
Because of the unique “house-on-wheels” interior design of
Private Motor Coach, Inc., company president Ed Lonsbary escorted a
select small group of Washington dignitaries.
On board were: Virginia E. Hayes Williams, mother of
Washington’s Mayor Anthony Williams; Judith Whitt of the American
Bus Association; President of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides
of Washington Jane W. North; and Licensed Tour Guide Sandra Sheskin.
The group’s tour began at the National Building Museum and
included Capitol Hill, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington
Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Memorial, the White House, Arlington Cemetery, and the Kennedy
Center.
Private Motor Coach, Inc. provides escorted, motorhome travel for
up to 8 people through the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central and South
America. The luxury coach features a lounge area, kitchen, queen
size bedroom and bathroom.
Private Motor Coach, Inc. was one of the 18 American
Bus Association member motorcoach companies who participated in this
special event. International Tourist Guide Day was first held in
1990 to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the World
Federation of Tourist Guide Associations, to promote the
appreciation of tourism, and to recognize the contribution of the
professional tour guide.
